Quarantine Weight Gain?

Quarantine Weight Gain?

Unfortunately, this is an old picture of me.

During quarantine I gained about 10 lbs. I am absolutely a stress eater and with that combined with aging, I found myself struggling to figure out why I could not drop the weight after quarantine.

To lose weight, I typically could just reduce portions and throw in a few more workouts for a couple weeks, and I would be successful at dropping any extra weight.  In recent years, I also turned to shake supplements to make sure I could grab something quick while on the go and between patients. Although I found this satisfying and served me well in dropping a few pounds in the past, this time was different. I could not figure out why I was not losing anything…and I mean nothing was changing no matter what I did!

So, I consulted my gym's nutrition coach and registered nurse, to see what I was missing and if she could help. I signed up for her program and I have learned so much in the past 4 weeks. I thought I knew quite a bit about dieting, eating, and nutrition, but I was oh-so wrong and needed to be reminded and educated further about the science behind what our bodies need to be healthy.

If you are struggling with weight loss and getting healthier after quarantine…get help. Find a reputable dietician and/or nutrition coach that can customize a program for you.

PS: Much to my surprise, I have lost 4 lbs. in the first 4 weeks! There is still more work to be done and more to learn.

PSS: One aspect of nutrition that I historically would not do is taking vitamins. Here is some interesting info about vitamins/supplements from my website that may interest you.
